AnthropicOpenAIAI Fatigue

AI is a total game changer today, now is in almost everything, for intance, Google has introduced AI to its search engine even for a simple search, with the side effect of introducing AI to thousands who werenot yet using it.

At the end of the day, its a tool more for the toolbox, a very powerful one. Now we can automate a lot of things, and its even more interesting for Software development, because now, can automate code. And this is huge, with AI teams save a lot of time and multiply the productivity, but of course, talking about a professional team.

If we talk about non-tech or begginer people, they often think programmers are gonna be replaced, and they have a great point.

With AI, even my mother can create its business website, for her, for my uncle, and for her friends, and further than a website, if she wants, an mobile app for her personal use.

And this scenario creates a good point of view: if a machine can make what a programmer do with a lot of coffee, why we still need programmers?

Are programmers being replaced?

Well, write code isn’t enough to develop high-quality software, and that’s why there’s a gap between a programmer and a software engineer. Explain to non-tech people that there’s more than just programming languages, is very complicated, and you can think, well, your mother isn’t in the computer science world, and yes you’re right, but even people who is studying something related to computer science or software, thought this.

Obviously, not everyone, but I have found a “FullStack developer”, and a “Data Engineer” who literally said: I do nothing now, AI automated my work.

I think I’ve heard similar stuff more than “I love you” this year, and my concern is not only deleate the entire work to AI, is how does they use AI.

My conclusion is that programmers, has its job totally automated with the correct harness and guardrails for the project, while a Software Engineer becomes an orchestator.

AI Is in constant evolution

Yesterday, OpenAI just released Dots,
